A Message from ICC Co-Founder Joanne Hunt

L

aura and I founded Integral Coaching Canada in 2003. Here is a photo of us when we were just starting out as well as a photo taken more recently, shortly before Laura died. Our greyer hair, the added wisdom around our eyes and the joy that shines through says much about our shared journey of building Integral Coaching Canada. It has been a labour of love. Every single day. We love our team and our faculty and every coach who finds their way to our Integral Coaching® Certification Program. New coaches. Experienced coaches.

We are honoured that you are here and thank you for considering Integral Coaching Canada with your coaching development. Over the years, Laura and I have experienced as much joy in supporting, inspiring, contributing to, and learning from this extraordinary community as we did when we first launched our coach training school. May your coaching dreams keep coming true whether you are working in an organization, opening your own coaching business, or adding new coaching skills to the expertise you already offer the world. Enjoy!

Coaching skills were always a part of her skill set as a corporate leader and Joanne produced significant results in improving business & individual effectiveness wherever she worked.

Joanne holds a Masters Degree in Management Studies specializing in research and human resource development and was credentialed as a Master Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation in 2002. Over the decades she has studied extensively with a variety of training institutes in fields such as coaching, systemic change, leadership development, and adult human development. Students have described her as a mama lion, a brilliant mind, a playful human being, and a passionate coach. Joanne is known for her clear, direct and skilful attention to what people truly need as they build the competencies necessary to more fully manifest their lives.

As a Co-Founder, Joanne has worked in all capacities in ICC, having co-developed and taught - over the years - every Module offered as a Senior Faculty member and Mastery Workshop developer, as well as guiding ICC’s corporate and strategic directions. Laura Divine

L

aura practiced in the field of coaching for over thirty years. Always seeking ways to enable people to fulfill their potential, she brings extensive leadership, management experience, and skilful means to her application of Integral Coaching® in all settings. While living in her hometown of San Francisco, Laura spent fifteen years in the telecommunications industry accumulating comprehensive executive experience in leadership, business effectiveness, change management, total quality systems, strategic planning, and coaching implementation within large scale systems.

Laura had a Masters Degree specializing in Exercise Physiology, an Executive MBA from Harvard and was credentialed as a Master Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation since 1999. Since building Integral Coaching Canada, her career focused exclusively on the discipline of coaching and advancing the field of human development. As the primary lineage holder of the Integral Coaching® method and training process, Laura held this responsibility with skilful means and wise compassion. Laura worked closely with the faculty team ensuring that the wisdom of this training architecture and approach to human development was richly transmitted to our lineage of teachers who continue to carry out and advance the teaching of the Integral Coaching® Method.

While well known as the co-developer of the trade-marked Integral Coaching® method and process, Laura is also held as a pioneer in the field of coaching in Canada. She developed early standards for the coaching industry that enabled large Canadian organizations to distinguish various coaching approaches at a time when an extensive range of coaching was flooding the marketplace. Her work helped to establish the highest standards for the coach selection process in many organizations. Coaches, clients and organizations continue to benefit from her dedication to excellence in all facets of the field of Integral Coaching®.

Laura was a long-term practitioner of Tai Chi, a student of Lenzie Williams (Berkeley, CA), and was a proud holder of the Yang-family short-form of Tai Chi developed by Professor Cheng Man Ch’ing. Laura died of metastatic breast cancer in August 2022. Creating Integral Coaching Canada was the capstone of her life of contribution – she supported the development of human beings and alleviated suffering in the thousands of people she touched. Laura was also deeply grateful that ICC would live on well beyond her death.

Micheline Green

M

icheline has been pursuing her developmental edges since she was a child. This has given her plenty of experience in the precarious and often messy process of change, uncertainty and disruption.

Micheline grew up in Montreal, Canada, and as a kinesthetic learner, needed to use her physical body in order to learn best. This ultimately served her well in her athletic pursuits. At 19 years old, Micheline played rugby for the Canadian women’s national team, and at 21, she kicked-off the first Women’s Rugby World Cup in Cardiff, Wales. This experience provided her a deep appreciation for what a group of people can accomplish when they work together, united with care, toward a common goal.

Micheline felt a similar unity and cohesion when she was first introduced to ICC in 2010. She experienced the seamless support and the heart-centered care of people united by the goal to alleviate suffering in the world, one individual at a time. Micheline graduated as an Integral Master Coach™ in 2014, taught by Joanne Hunt and Laura Divine. She feels blessed to have had the experience of their dynamic dance together and she carries Joanne and Laura’s many teachings forward in her own warmhearted, down-to-earth, sincere approach to teaching.

Micheline has worked with ICC since 2016, as an MCM Mentor, a Coaching Conversation Observer, a Certification Committee member, and a Phone Coach for both the Associate and Professional level, as well as an instructor for the Associate Certification Module.

Micheline has a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Sciences and a Master’s degree in Educational Counseling, and she continues to stretch her edges. She is a full-time coach, and a passionate course creator for her online business Rising Together Academy. Drawing upon her work with Montessori and Waldorf schools, she created the Conscious and Connected Parenting program to support parents around the world in developing their inner resources to be more able to skillfully harness the transformative power of love while in the tension of their children’s most difficult behaviors.  Most recently, she completed her third course for young adults, a course that supports them to discover their inner compass to navigate their life.

Micheline lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with her two aging, but happy, hiking partners, Summer and Sky.  Her three adult-children are blessed and released, and are following their passions and purpose. Micheline’s “happy place” is creating and facilitating a safe container for individuals and groups to come together in exploration of their complex inner worlds. Micheline supports that explorative practice with compassion, tenderness and deep, heartfelt care.

Miriam Binder-Lang

O

riginally trained as an engineer, Miriam has a deep passion for human development. Throughout her 20-year executive career across several countries in a large international organization, her greatest joy was to support, enable, and witness the unfolding of talent and the harnessing of skills and knowledge within her organization.

What began as a sabbatical year to acquire some coaching skills in 2015 ended up being a profound shift in Miriam’s career and life when she embarked on the Integral Coaching Canada journey. Through Integral Coaching®, she discovered Integral Theory, building her theoretical understanding while engaging in its practical application. Her analytical mind appreciates how Integral Theory provides a structure that helps make sense of complex human behaviors and interactions, while her compassionate heart values the beauty, uniqueness, and inherent perfection of each human being.

Since graduating as an Integral Master Coach in 2016, Miriam has been dedicated to coaching individuals and supporting leadership teams in their development. She has deeply immersed herself in spiritual practice with Integral Zen and various teachers, which enhances her ability to serve clients, students, and every being with intuitive sensitivity.

Miriam has served as a mentor for MCM students and as a member of the ICC Certification Committee. She is an ICC Instructor for the Professional Certification Module, supports students as a Phone Coach and Observer across all ICCP Modules, and mentors faculty members in specific roles.

Miriam divides her time between Germany and France. She has three children, a husband, and a dynamic environment she calls her family. She enjoys that her dinner table serves as an integral development lab where she can observe various stages of development all at once.
